Danny was born on November 19, 1983 in Los Angeles, California. He enlisted in the United States Active Army in August 2002. God graced him to serve in positions of greater responsibility. Culminating his nine years of enlisted service as Senior Human Resources Sergeant, Sergeant First Class. He transitioned to the Army Reserve and became a 2LT Chaplain Candidate. A year later, CH (1LT) Black accessioned as a Chaplain in the Army Reserves and served four years as a Hospital Chaplain before accessioning to the Active Duty Chaplaincy. Danny Black is married to Reana Tyshel. He is the proud father of Daniel, 14; Jeremiah, 11 years old.
CH (CPT) Danny Black have served as the Senior Pastor for over eight years impacting hearts and minds as a servant leader of four churches to include: the International Christian Church in Seoul, Korea; Parrish Grove Baptist Church in Twin City, Georgia; Inspirational Gospel Chapel in Watertown, New York; and Sagamihara Gospel Chapel in Camp Zama, Japan.
CH (CPT) Black is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Ministry. His previous education includes: a Master’s in Divinity from Liberty Theological Seminary; a Master's of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University; a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College; an Associate's of Arts in General Studies from Central Texas College and various courses in Counseling and Psychology.
CH (CPT) Black’s military education includes one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Chaplains Officer Basic Leader Course (CH-BOLC), Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Warrior Leader Course, Human Resource Manager Course, Field Sanitation Team Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Supervisor Development Course, and the Manager Development Course.
CH (CPT) Black is currently assigned as a Chaplain Recruiter in Morrow Georgia. His previous assignments include: Battalion Chaplain for 311 Military Intelligence Battalion, 2-87 Infantry Battalion Chaplain. He also deployed to Afghanistan with 2-87 Infantry Battalion in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel as the Task Force Chaplain. Bravo Company, 405th Combat Medical Hospital in Hartsfield Connecticut serving as a Hospital Chaplain, 352nd CSSB Bravo Company, Chaplain Candidate.
CH (CPT) Black’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), Army Reserve Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (Bronze Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Notch), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), and the NATO Medal.
